The Taste of Chicago

Chicago. Chi-town. The “Windy City”. I will now add “The Savory City” to the list!

I have heard about the Taste of Chicago for years but have never been able to attend. The Taste is a 5 day food festival that is filled with music, art, and oh yeah, FOOD, in the beautiful city of Chicago. Now, I’ve visited Chicago before and have experienced the different flavors that truly excited my taste buds! But The Taste was different! Not only was I able to enjoy, of course, the deep dish pizza, but the Taste offered foods from all over! The streets were lined up with vendors and food trucks that served foods from the islands such as jerk chicken and ox tails. Or you could walk a little further and sample shrimp fried rice from the Chinese food truck. Cross over to the next street and walk right into Little Italy that allowed the air to be filled with the smell of Italian seasonings that topped different varieties of pasta. And oh the sweets! Now you know your girl has a major sweet tooth! The cheesecake topped with vanilla bean ice cream, to the churros, the cookies, the ice cream sundaes... I didn’t know where to begin. Unfortunately, for my stomach, I didn’t know where to end either. But it was so worth it! I met some really cool people as well! And the music made my hips move and my booty shake!

If you ever get the opportunity, please check out the Taste of Chicago. It’s held every July. So you have one year to plan. Plan on being entertained and plan on being full!!!
