Dig Pass the Surface Level

There is someone on social media that I have been following for some time now. For the sake of this post, lets call this person "Shawn". Now Shawn seems to be very popular, always "in the know", and seems to have a solid group of friends. As a blogger I kind of looked up to Shawn and at one point, sought out advice on how I could grow my food blog and platform. While I did get a response, it was one of those "Don't call me, I'll call you" type things. I was slightly disappointed but I kind of expected it.

I was scrolling through social media and out of nowhere, I noticed how all of Shawn's posts seem to revolve around the same people and same places. And it made me wonder why someone of Shawn's caliber would be (sort of) limited in their content.

I later found out that it's literally Shawn's business to focus on the circle of places that we often see on Shawn's social media. There is somewhat "stock" in posting particular things because at the end of the day, it brings in business for Shawn.

It made me remember there's so much more than what shows on the surface level. Every now and then we need to dig deeper, not just to learn and/or understand others, but also within ourselves , to learn and understand things about us. This "digging" for what initially started as plain old curiosity, actually uncovered a buried gem. It was a reminder that (1) things aren't always what they seem and (2) sometimes we are kept out of certain situations, experiences, and groups because it's just not for you!

Create your own lane! Become a force to be reckoned with! Bring those with you who helped you along your way. Dig beyond the service level of your life

and uncover the buried gem of YOU!
