Blind...With Vision

As many of you know, I have suffered with vision problems for quite some time now. Being legally blind has definitely come with its challenges. It’s super frustrating not to be able to drive where you want to go, having to pass up on invites because you don’t know how you will get there, asking people for rides to and from home and work. And let’s not start on the endless doctor appointments, trial contact lenses (that cost as much as rent) and numerous prescriptions. But I kept going! I worked everyday, in spite of not being able to see the computer or see customer’s ID’s. I pushed through days where my eyes were either swollen or bloodshot or wrecked with pain. I kept going. Even though, I was met with despair from management and any assistive agency, I kept going! I was determined not to let this disability destroy my spirit! And I most certainly not going to let this blindness take away my vision!

I say that to encourage someone to keep going! No matter what life throws at you, KEEP GOING! If you have a vision, a goal, and a plan for your life, don’t let anyone or anything stop you! Even if you have to take a step back and start over. KEEP GOING!

I am so grateful for my family and friends who have been there for me through this trying time I will never be able to thank them enough! And I am happy to say that my vision is getting much better and soon, I’ll be driving myself EVERYWHERE! Times may get rough but they WILL get better! Just KEEP GOING!!!
